ABOUT US
The issues of energy supply, energy efficiency, climate change and sustainability are high on the agendas of Governments and Industry. Insulation has an important role to play to address these issues. Insulation is not just about energy efficiency, importantly it provides increased comfort, better health and well being for building occupants for the full building life. ICANZ is actively involved in the advocacy of these issues and Federal and State Government levels on matters of policy development. Insulation plays a fundamental role in good building design but it is only part of the total product mix. ICANZ works closely with other allied organisations both locally and internationally to provide better data and cost effective energy efficient solutions for buildings.
WHAT WE DO
SUPPORT OUR MEMBER
We provide service to manufacturers of glasswool, rock wool, and slag wool insulation (sometimes collectively known as mineral fibre) used for thermal, sound, fire, or filtration purposes, and we promote the welfare and development of the mineral fibre insulation industry.
Promote Energy Efficiency and Environmental Sustainability
We promote energy conservation and thermal efficiency across commercial and residential buildings through the use of mineral fibre insulation.
Encourage Good Work Practices and Safe Use of Insulation
We promote and publicise the safe use of mineral fibre insulation, and we promote and encourage good work practices by producers and installers of insulation products.
Monitor regulatory standards and the National Construction Code
We assist in the development of Codes and Standards for mineral fibre insulation.
Create and Share Information
We support the creation of content required to deliver information and understanding of mineral fibre products. We disseminate this information to our Alliance partners, Federal and State Governments, Regulators, building professionals, consumers, and other associations in matters affecting the industry.
